The Archives Service of Donegal County Council is responsible for preserving, acquiring and making accessible the recorded heritage of the county for the people of Donegal, present and future generations.

The Archives Service is part of Cultural services Division, Community, Culture and Planning Directorate, Donegal County Council. Donegal County Archives provide a service both to the public and to its own staff and Council members.

The County Archives holds the collections of Donegal’s local public bodies and also collections donated by private individuals and organisations which relate to the history and culture of the county.

Donegal County Archives seeks to preserve, acquire and make accessible the documented heritage of the County for the people of Donegal, present and future generations.
