Public Art Advice and Support
The Arts Service provides advice and support to services and project teams within the local authority who are commissioning public art works under the government’s Per Cent for Arts Scheme or other funding programmes, as such opportunities arise. Recent examples have included three commissions on the N56 with the Donegal National Roads Office and a new commission with the Community Development and Planning Directorate on the Friar Hegarty Shore Path in Buncrana.
The Arts Service also provides assistance to organizations outside of the local authority – to schools in particular - who are managing public art commissions as part of capital works programmes being undertaken in and around their facilities.
