Plan My Visit

Whether you are a library member or not, everyone is welcome to our libraries to browse, relax and read. 

We advise everyone to check out our opening hours before they visit to avoid disappointment. For anyone wanting to use a public PC or access a specific service, we’d advise contacting your local library in advance to book. 

Events: We have lots of events and activities taking place regularly at your local library. To find out what's on visit our What's on Calendar.

Social Stories: We have developed a social story for Central Library, Twin Towns Community Library and Buncranan Community Library, which may help people familiarise themselves with the library and what to expect before they visit.

Schools and Groups:  If you would like a dedicated member of staff to show you round or do an activity with your group, we’d highly recommend contacting your chosen branch in advance to arrange a visit. That way we can make sure we’re prepared. We can even arrange for group membership sign-ups in advance if that’s something you’re interested in so that everyone has a library card ready for their visit. 

Plenty of groups visit regularly just to browse or borrow without an appointment which we also welcome. However, we cannot guarantee that there won’t be another group in, activity taking place or a speedy service.
