EUROPE DIRECT Letterkenny, based in Central Library, is one of eight centres throughout the country. The aim of each centre is to help citizens to become more familiar with the structure and development of the European Union. In addition, Leabharlann Phobail Ghaoth Dobhair provides a satellite Europe Direct service with information provision in the Irish language.

EUROPE DIRECT Letterkenny provides a range of services, including free publications, brochures and guides; a question and answer service; computers with access to the EU’s Europa website – www.europa.eu; a meeting room capable of hosting talks, promotional events etc. on European matters and free-phone access to the Europe Direct call centre in Brussels.

Europe Direct organises themed events to encourage debate and discussion on a range of European issues. Events include visits from our MEP’s, the Soapbox public speaking competition, Time to Move workshops which showcase the opportunities for young people to work, study and volunteer in Europe and exhibitions.
